Garden Hills

Garden Hills

Developed by Philip C. McDuffie in the 1920″s-30″s, Garden Hills is one of Atlanta”s earliest “suburban” neighborhoods stemming from the increased use of automobiles after WWI. In thos e early days, Garden Hills was a model country club neighborhood with numerous custom-built homes for Atlanta”s wealthy residents. Today, many of those homes continue to impress Atlanta residents with their classic charm and elegance. The most common architectural styles are Tudor and Colonial Revival, which remain very popular with today”s buyers.

In addition to the beautiful historic homes, Garden Hills has a small duck pond and gardens along many of the streets. There are three notable schools within the neighborhood: the historic N. Fulton High School and Garden Hills Elementary and the esteemed Atlanta International School. There is an optional homeowner”s association that costs around $125/year. Eighty-five percent of this goes to a neighborhood security patrol. The neighborhood has a Garden Club that maintains civic gardens and keeps the neighborhood beautiful throughout the year. In addition, there is a community pool and recreation center that offers annual membership and can be reserved by members for events.
